Ace the Art of Party Decoration

Either its the smaller events for family or friends gathering like birthday parties, bridal showers or the events held on larger scales like weddings, the

concept event decor has transformed so drastically in Pakistan. You do remember those red, yellow and blue tents, and those 100 watt bulbs hanging from them, that we got for almost all the major events. Right?

Now it seems we have grasped the idea of actually how important right decorations can be for the event to be a hit. And with this new trend a number of small but overcharging event decoration businesses have also materialized. I know we need those event planners and decorators to organize a function on a greater level, well because not everything can be a “DIY project”. But you really don’t need to break the bank if you want to throw a lavish party on a smaller scale, because this you can totally do yourself.

It’s not rocket science to get the party decor right. Only putting a few ornamental bits in the right way can set the mood of the site according to the nature of the event and get the party going. So let’s talk about what those “ornamental bits” can be and how to “put them right way”. Decor for an event should be considered as creating a design and there are a few vital elements to be considered to make that design a pleasing one.

• Entrance

In order to set the ambiance of the festivity and to get your guests in a buoyant spirit and make them feel welcomed from the moment they arrive you should really put your mind to design a striking entrance to your party.

If you are having the party in an indoor space you can take advantage of already present entry-way by decorating the door and the foyer (if you have one). Or if your party venue is outdoors then you can fashion an arch with ornaments following your theme. Or you can simply put up  a beautifully designed welcome sign.

• Backdrop

A good design should always have a focal point, which will be the first element to capture the viewer’s attention, and backdrops can be a salient feature to achieve that. Backdrop is the scene-setter and get the mood of venue just right according to your theme, plus the backdrop will also prove to be very useful to get those Instagram

worthy photos by providing a gorgeous framework.

A greeting according to the occasion can be written on the backdrop or it can simply be good visual design. A great backdrop should be very modest, so it doesn’t overpower the people standing in front of it in the pictures.

• Central Table

If you’ve got a cake for the event you can set a table right in front of your backdrop and put the cake on it. It can really build up your focal point.

So, it won’t create much of a negative space make sure to cover the table with a pretty tablecloth in colors of your theme and put other smaller accessories on the table.

• Photo Booth

So what’s a party worth going to if you don’t even get some bomb, Instagram worthy pictures out of it? Creating a corner specified for pictures adds in an element of fun and gives your guests an exciting activity, and also it will enhance the feel of your theme.

You can also add some smaller accessories here and there following your theme. But you can pretty much establish a thematic and festive atmosphere by just adding these major features.
