A flexible sphere full of air
Striking colors, bobbing here and there,
What a happy sight that would be
Filling all the watchers with bliss and glee,
Framing gaiety and not fike
For adults and little ones all alike,
Then they explode, spreading joy
Marking their end with another ploy.
Balloons are altogether a key element of party decorations. Though a source of military communication being the initial intent for them, it wasn’t long after that, that someone saw the potential fun that bag full of gas could be.
Where children’s birthday parties are quite unimaginable without having tons of balloons, they have also become fairly basic for any sort of event under the sun.
Depending on the type of event and the deliberate use of them, any kind of balloons could be chosen from the wide variety available in the market these days.
Let’s consider the options we have when it comes to the types of balloons. Depending on the material used to manufacture, two sorts of balloons are at hand, both with their own variety and pros and cons.
- LATEX
They’re the common rubber balloons that we’ve been seeing from our childhood. They are really cheap and cheerful and are available in every color imaginable. Because of the rubber, they’re extremely flexible and lots of balloons can be tied together to create different shapes. A very significant plus point of latex balloons is them being biodegradable.
The material being porous, latex balloons are very short living and the gas keeps flowing out of them from the moment they’ve been inflated. And, as they’re too flimsy, even the slightest pressure could cause them to burst if they’ve been inflated to their fullest.
Now let’s look at the variations available of latex balloons depending on their shape and size.
- Common Round/oval: these are the very commonly available, 11″ balloons. They’re the most popular among the party goers and decorators.
- Big Curvy Ones: they can really add to the fun having that super cute and merry shape. They can be as long as 3ft.
- Big Round Ones: they are in the shape of a perfect sphere and can have a diameter of up to 36 inches. They can really help you create a soft and extremely romantic scene.
- FOIL
They’re made from a blend of metal and nylon, and are non stretchy. They’re very popular when it comes to being of different shapes, because of their stronger hold on their shape. They can last up to two weeks unlike their one-day-lifespan counterparts, because their material is non porous plus they don’t burst that easy. Recently they’ve become very popular among photographers because of mirror like quality.
But if you’re going to do your whole venue in balloons then they can be really pricey. And also they are not biodegradable hence shouldn’t be released into the air.
Let’s go into the styles available for foil balloons, as along with the common oval shape they’re also accessible in different shapes and sizes.
- Numbers and Letters: it’s a great way to depict anyone’s name or the number of their birthday in your decoration. They can also be rearranged to write some greetings on your backdrop or anywhere else.
- literally Any Other Shape: a ring for an engagement party, or a bottle feeder for a baby shower, whichever shape you need to put in to your decoration you can surely find a foil balloon in it.
To really liven up the event, a mix of both types of balloons can be used.
