Makeup is a girl’s best friend. Unlike what men think, it is more about enhancing natural beauty rather than changing your natural features. And your tools may just be makeup brushes!
To achieve a flawless and natural makeup look, you need to have the right brushes. In fact, next time when you want to go to an event, learn some basic techniques and get the right brushes so you do not have to go to the salon.
The importance of makeup can be told by my simple story.
I was a no-makeup girl all my life. One day, I woke up to just gain interest. I went out of my way to get the best makeup possible. I had made a simple mistake, not getting the best brushes.
While I spent my time learning online how to do makeup, I never understood that most of the art can be achieved with the right brush. One day, I happened to spend some money on a little above-average brush! There was so much that changed that day!
I went ahead and bought plenty of brushes from the best brushes brand out there – BH Cosmetics. There are plenty of other brands, like Mac and so, but affordable and amazing makeup brushes are truly by BH cosmetics only.
I remember wearing liner on Eid and everybody went bananas! They kept asking me if it was a stencil or maybe even done professionally. The truth was that the right brush helped me make easy strokes!
A standard makeup brush set by BH Cosmetics pretty much has everything you need. However, if you want to go far and ahead, then you can choose other brands as well.
To get the most out of makeup brushes, you need to know what they are used for. To clear up all the confusion in your mind, here is a list of the makeup brushes and their uses.
Powder brush
Let us start with the most basic makeup brush. Almost everyone has it, it’s the powder brush. Powder brushes are best for soft application of loose powder on your face. This loose powder can be translucent, setting, or even blush powder – the only condition is that it’s loose.
The brush has soft and fluffy bristles that help pick the right amount of product without making much effort. To ensure the best application, you need to ensure you do not dive deep and hard into the container. In case you feel like you have picked up the excessive product, a simple tap can easily get the excess off.
Since the brush is soft and flowy, there is little hand movement involved to get the best usage out of the brush.
Even if you have no other brush, then grab a couple of powder brushes to work your way through your makeup. Remember to not use it for wet or creamy products.
A blush brush is the same, just a little smaller so you can cover a smaller area.
Stippled brush
A stippled makeup brush is the best brush to have for a creamy or liquid-based product such as a foundation. Stippled brushes give the best and most flawless look.
The bristles are two different lengths to get the best product and the perfect blending. The longer bristles are lightly colored with a softer texture. The bottom ones are dense, thick, and dark. The bottom layer allows you to pick the product while the top ones help blend them.
The best way to use a stippled brush is to use it with a soft hand and in circular motions around the face.
Contour brush
Adding a bit of contour to your face is a great way to define the cheeks and shape of your face. To get the best contouring look, use a contouring makeup brush.
Contouring brushes are generally very soft and are for powder contouring. If you want to use a cream or a liquid contour, then use a contouring stippling brush. Essentially it is the same, but it has the qualities of a stippling brush to help pick up the product better.
The shape of these is generally tapered or has an angle to it. That helps make perfect strokes with more precision.
Fan brush
Highlighter is my personal favorite part of makeup. However, many people make the error of not blending their highlighter properly. To ensure that you have a flawless look, then having a fan brush will help you.
A fan brush has bristles that are light and spread out like a fan. This allows the best pickup of the product and easily blends into the skin.
The fan shape of the brush helps create the perfect precision on your highlighting bones. However, fan brushes are not for cream or liquid highlighters. Unfortunately, there is not much for these kinds of highlighters. A good beauty blender will still do the job for you.
Flat eyeshadow brushes
Among the many different types of eyeshadow brushes, the first is the flat eyeshadow brush. The flat eyeshadow brush is dense and picks product easily.
This brush is not for blending but works best for picking up a lot of products and for monotone eye makeup looks. This type of brush works for makeup looks that require a pop of color and less blending on the eyes.
If you are a beginner, then this brush is a must-have for your vanity.
Eye blending brush
If you want soft makeup looks for everyday or special events, eye blending brushes are mandatory to have.
These are like powder brushes but soft and very small to cater to your eyes as well. If you want something for crease, then the same kind of brush but angled helps for crease lines.
Wrap up
There are so many different types of makeup brushes. However, we have mentioned the most basic and must-haves for everyone. Comment down below if you want to know more about different brushes.
